De Novo Pharmaceuticals Announces Collaboration
with Lilly
De Novo Pharmaceuticals today announced that
it has entered into a licensing agreement with Eli Lilly and Company
(Indianapolis, USA). Under the terms of the agreement De Novo will
license its proprietary algorithm based platform SkelGen® on
a non-exclusive basis for research on undisclosed targets belonging
to Lilly.
SkelGen is a platform that uses structural information on drug targets
to generate potential new drugs by computer modelling.
Drs Bart Wuurman, Chief Executive Officer of
De Novo, said: “We are delighted to be working with Lilly.
This is another major pharmaceutical company to recognise the value
that SkelGen can potentially deliver to their drug discovery process.
This agreement is precisely in line with our recently announced
strategy of focussing on commercial development and partnering of
our excellent computational chemistry platforms.”
De Novo Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
De Novo Pharmaceuticals is a world leader in the field of in-silico
drug design located in Cambridge UK. Its proprietary algorithm based
platform SkelGen can make the drug discovery process faster, cheaper
and more effective, with the added benefit that it can lead to patentable
molecules against disease targets whilst ruling out molecular structures
that are too complicated to synthesize commercially.
De Novo is currently seeking collaborations
with biotech and pharma companies.
